Faculty of Conflict Studies of St. Petersburg University of the Humanities and Social Sciences was created in October, 2008 by the initiative of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia and under the support of the Government of the Russian Federation.
The basic educational program implemented at the faculty is “Conflict Studies” with “Social Labor Conflicts” and “Ethnic Conflicts” directions.
About 650 students study at the faculty on Bachelor and Master Degrees.
Students of the faculty during study get the complex of knowledge in Law, Economics, Psychology, Sociology, Culturology, and communicative, research, projective, consulting and other competencies.
They get basic professional skills in forecasting, analysis and resolution of controversies in social and labor sphere and in the sphere of interethnic relations, helping the conflicting parties to find mutually acceptable solutions.
Faculty graduates work in public authorities, the Tripartite Commissions for the settlement of social and labor relations at the Government of the Russian Federation, administrations of regions of the Russian Federation, trade unions, labor inspections, mediation organizations and HR services of various companies.
Center for Monitoring and Analysis of Social and Labor Conflicts, working at the faculty, studies real conflicts of the Russian society life and develops effective methods of conflict settlement and prediction.
